About this blog

I originally set up this blog in 2008 as a way of exploring online storytelling tools, and applications that weren't necessarily created for journalists, but which we could use to engage audiences and communicate more immediately and effectively.

It also became a home to some random outpouring of things that I was getting up to in my day job at the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo and various ridiculous things I'd done or witnessed over my years of workig in the regional press.

More recently, it's become a place where I write thoughts on the industry out of my head.
I love blogging, I'm endlessly fascinated by the clever, insightful people who write consistently and expertly on their blogs, simply because they feel passionately about an issue, and I'd urge any journalist who enjoys communicating - audio, text, photos, whatever - to make time for it.

In my day job I'm Editor, Digital Innovation, with Trinity Mirror Regionals; I guess it's obvious but, for the record, this is my personal blog and the opinions expressed here are my own.
If you want to connect, I'm on Twitter as @alisongow and my Google+ profile is here.

Thanks for stopping by - if you have a blog I should be reading, please let me know.
